Four Cornwall Beaches Named Cleanest and Safest in the UK

Four Cornish beaches have been named among the top 11 cleanest and safest beaches across the UK.

Porthtowan Beach, Porthmeor Beach, Carbis Bay and Widemouth Sand were selected for their excellent qualities.

The research completed by Ann’s Cottage Surf Shop took several factors into consideration including water quality, Blue Flag status, Seaside Award and proven negligible traces of e.coli or enterococci in the past 12 months.

Six beaches in the region were recently awarded Blue Flag and Seaside Status including Porthmeor in St Ives, Porthtowan and Trevone Bay.

The Penellen is located just a short walk from Carbis Bay beach along with Hayle and Gwithian Towans beaches with over 3 miles of beautiful sand.
